Answers to the most common questions about installation, safety, and features.
General Questions
Is ExfrySwapper completely free?
Yes, the core functionality is free to use forever. We do not lock essential skins behind a paywall.
Does it work on Windows 11?
Absolutely. We fully support Windows 10 (versions 2004+) and Windows 11. Make sure your system is updated.
Can I use this on Console (PS5/Xbox)?
No. This software modifies local files on a Windows PC. It is technically impossible to run on consoles like PlayStation, Xbox, or Switch.
Do I need a VPN to use this?
No, a VPN is not required. The app works globally. However, if your ISP blocks our update server, a VPN might help.
Does it work with other launchers?
It is designed primarily for the Epic Games Launcher version of Fortnite. It may work with Cloud Gaming, but it is not officially supported.
How do I update the software?
The launcher checks for updates automatically on startup. If an update is found, it will download and install it before launching.
Safety & Bans
Will I get banned for using this?
Using any third-party tool carries a risk. However, ExfrySwapper uses a "Client-Side" method which is historically very safe. We have not had a ban wave in over 2 years. Use at your own risk.
Should I use this on my Main Account?
We always recommend testing on an alt account first if you are worried. While thousands use it on mains daily, we cannot guarantee 100% safety forever.
Why does my antivirus flag the download?
This is a "False Positive". Because the app modifies game files, antivirus heuristics label it as suspicious. You need to add an exclusion in Windows Defender.
Do you need my password?
Never. The app does not ask for your password and does not interact with the Epic Games API login servers. It works purely offline/locally.
Does this include an HWID Spoofer?
No. This is purely a skin tool. It does not unban you, hide your hardware ID, or bypass existing bans.
Technical Issues
Error: "Game Path Not Found"
Go to Settings > Game Path. Manually navigate to where you installed Fortnite (usually C:\Program Files\Epic Games\Fortnite\FortniteGame\Binaries\Win64).
The app crashes upon opening
Ensure you have installed the .NET Desktop Runtime 6.0 or higher. Also, try right-clicking the app and selecting "Run as Administrator".
Skins are invisible / missing textures
Make sure you are NOT using "Performance Mode" with low meshes. Some skins require high quality settings (DirectX 11/12) to render properly.
Download speed is very slow
This can happen during peak times. Try using the MediaFire mirror link provided on the download page.
I get "Access Denied" error
Close Fortnite and the Epic Games Launcher completely before swapping. The app cannot modify files that are currently in use by the game.
Swapping Features
Can other players see my skins?
No. This is a "Client-Side" swapper. Only YOU can see the changes. Other players will see the default skin you are wearing.
Does this change my hitboxes?
No. The hitbox remains the same as the original skin (usually the default Recruit). Swapping does not give you a competitive advantage.
Can I swap Backblings or Pickaxes?
Yes! We support Skins, Backblings, Pickaxes, and Emotes. Gliders and Wraps are currently experimental/beta.
Can I import my own custom textures?
Not in this version. We only support swapping existing in-game assets to ensure stability and prevent crashes.
How do I revert to default?
There is a "Revert" button next to every item you swapped. There is also a global "Revert Everything" button in the Settings tab.
